The New Entrant Course for operating a rigid dumper is a comprehensive program designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely operate this equipment.
The course content is spread across three days. Day One begins with an induction session, which includes registration and orientation to familiarize new entrants with the course requirements.
Day Two focuses on the introduction to the machine, covering essential topics such as
- The machine operator's manual
- Machine maintenance checks
- Machine operation
- Machine safety awareness
- Preparing the machine for movement
- Traveling the machine, and various machine operations.
Day Three continues with machine operations, where candidates will be required to demonstrate specific tasks with the plant equipment being tested. The practical test has a maximum time limit for completing all tasks. Tasks include setting up for operation and performing operations, as well as properly parking and securing the machine.
With a duration of three days, this course ensures that new entrants receive comprehensive training and practical assessment to develop their proficiency in safely operating a rigid dumper.Upon completion of the course, candidates will receive a Solas log book, allowing them to work under supervision. Once they have completed a log book detailing six months of work experience, they can be assessed for the relevant QSCS CARD.
Requirements:
1. Have at least three months General Site Experience
2. Be at least 18 years of age
3. Hold a Valid Safe Pass Card
