Training aim
This course trains delegates to inspect plant machinery. Delegates learn about legislation, responsibilities, inspection procedures, and reporting methods.
Learning objectives
This course is intended for those from a relevant engineering background with several years experience in plant maintenance, to be nominated as a competent person to inspect plant machinery. The overall aim of the course is that the delegate will be able to refer to relevant legislation, areas of responsibility, inspection procedures, methods, recording inspections, certification, and defect reports.

At the end of this course, delegates will have an understanding of:
o Outline of PUWER
o Outline of LOLER
o Areas of Responsibility
o Inspection of mechanical equipment
o Inspection of hydraulic equipment
o Inspection of Lifting equipment
o Practical inspection exercises
o Recording inspections
o Certification
o Reporting defects
This course will add to competency and will facilitate the completion of the GA1 form.

Assessment & certification
Delegates will receive an NPORS certificate upon successful completion of the course.
