The IPAF MEWP Harness Awareness Training Course ensures that operators of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) are equipped with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to operate safely while using a harness system. Harness Awareness training is mandatory prior to undertaking any IPAF MEWP training, and it is the employer's responsibility to ensure that all operators receive this essential training.
The course is designed to be completed through a blended learning approach, comprising online theory modules and on-site practical sessions. The online theory modules cover crucial topics such as harness system components, fitting and selection, inspection and maintenance, safe usage techniques, and emergency procedures. Participants can access these modules at their convenience, allowing for flexible learning.
The on-site practical sessions provide hands-on training under the guidance of experienced instructors. Participants will learn how to properly don and adjust the harness, inspect associated equipment, perform pre-operation checks, and understand the importance of communication, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures while working at height.
