The New Entrant Course for operating a mini digger is designed to provide comprehensive training on safely operating this equipment.
Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a Solas log book, allowing them to work under supervision. After gaining six months of work experience documented in the log book, candidates become eligible for assessment to obtain the relevant QSCS CARD.
The course spans three days and covers essential topics to ensure a strong foundation in mini digger operation. Day One begins with an induction session where new entrants register and receive an overview of the course.
Day Two focuses on introducing the machine, covering topics such as:
- The Machine Operators Manual
- Machine Maintenance Checks
- Machine Operation
- Machine Safety Awareness
- Preparing the machine for movement
- Traveling with the machine, and various machine operations.
Day Three continues with machine operations, during which candidates will undergo a practical test. This test requires demonstrating tasks associated with the mini digger within a specified time frame. Tasks include setting up for operation and operation itself, as well as parking and securing the machine.
With a duration of three days, this course ensures new entrants receive thorough instruction, practice, and assessment in the safe operation of a mini digger.
