Site Dumper - Experienced Operator QSCS

Course Description

The Site Dumper Operator Training Course is designed to provide experienced quarry plant operators with the opportunity to obtain certification, recognizing their skills, knowledge, and attitudes associated with plant operations. This comprehensive program allows participants to showcase their competencies and gain suitable certification.

The course begins with registration and induction, ensuring a smooth start to the day. Candidates then undergo a 3-hour corrective training session led by a qualified course instructor.

Following the training, candidates will complete a theory test consisting of a multi-choice question paper. The test covers various subjects, including

legislation and regulations

- Employer and employee responsibilities

- Safe working practices

- Machine components and functions

- Correct operating techniques

- Pre-use checks, basic maintenance

- Road travel (where permitted)

- Materials and loads

- Quarry safety, and shutdown and securing procedures.

All these subjects are covered during the corrective training.


The practical test requires candidates to demonstrate their skills by completing tasks with the plant equipment for which they are being tested. The practical test has a specified time limit for completing all tasks.

Upon meeting the required standard, NCTS Ltd will send the relevant assessment documentation to Solas for certification and registration. Feedback and certification will be provided accordingly.

Candidates with specific assessment requirements, such as the need for a translator or reader/writer, should inform NCTS Ltd well in advance of attending the one-day program to ensure appropriate assistance is arranged. NCTS Ltd treats information regarding specific requirements with the utmost confidentiality.

The Site Dumper Operator Training Course spans one day, offering a comprehensive and efficient learning experience.


To be eligible for this program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Have a minimum of six months of full-time quarry experience operating the specific Plant within the last two years.

2. Be at least 18 years old.

3. Have completed Safety Awareness Training, which includes topics such as employee duties and responsibilities, health and hygiene, traffic management, and site-specific hazards and safety measures.
