Course Description

First Aid Responder (FAR) Training Course – PHECC Approved  

Since the 1st June 2018, the HSA only recognises the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) First Aid Response (FAR) training standard as meeting the needs of occupational first aid in workplaces. However, any QQI OFA training completed prior to 1st June 2018 will be recognised for the full 2 years duration from the date of training.

The initial FAR training is based on a 3 day (18 hour) classroom course and valid for 2 years. Recertification training is based on a 2 day (12 hour) classroom course. 

The instructor/learner ratio is 1:8 maximum and a 30 day grace period is allowed.
